your words rang loud in my inner ear
of things I buried, things I knew I feared
I long to wish they wouldn't
I hoped that you were wrong
but now I see your wisdom
because you've lived so long

I learned long ago to heed your advice
and the words of wisdom you give
Now l listen to them once again
and wonder if they're true
