Sunny Day

by Charles J Hannan

A new day
The beginning
Lovely ritual
Of the rising sun
My body soaks up life
In the warmth
Bringing happiness
In a season of cold
Let the feeling
Of Summer flow through my veins
Peeking between leaves
Around trees
The grass seems to want to grow
Flowers are wondering
Is it time to break free
To stretch it's pedals
Once more
The dew glistens
Mushrooms hide in fear
And I sit on my porch
Taking it all in
Gathering for Winter
