gypsie dancer

by Julie Adams

air bounces
from her hips
as she
dances with ancestors
to a rhythm of breaths
and drums, echoing folklore
in the pulse of her wrist
in the twirl of her hip
in the flick of her toe
as the notes
splash
against her
music made flesh
silk takes flight
art takes form
woman living in a rhythm
long before she ever heard
the beat of her
own heart

This is a care-free style Jewels. It seems to move much like the title might imply. Nice work. Peace...

Julie, I absolutely love the images invoked by this poem. I love how the structure flows like a belly dancer would dance :)
