Rue

by Melina Raven Maness Diebold

A fair-skinned beauty of misfortune born

seeks for and searches for some escape

from her tormentor's grasp and constant rape

but through such pain her will is rightfully torn

This sad existance leaves our lady sad, forlorn

a life of which others can't relate

save only though of a poor twin fate

for this universal tragedy one can only mourn

Yet perhaps, there is a cure in love

if indeed it can be found

(and for mercy let that be true)

One can send prayers to the One above

and hope he can hear its sound

else this poor girl will forever rue
