After Taste of You

by Deanna M Gritsonis

Hours since you left
The kiss on my lips
The faint smell of you on me
The last touch of your hand
I swallow my hurt
I break inside
The brief moment I felt whole
Broke into tiny lost pieces
Such a tease
Such a touch
Such love
For you
Gone...
I know to hold my place
I know to keep still
But I am allowed to cry right now
Wipe my tears with your hand
Kiss me hello not goodbye
To sleep next to you
Body warm
To stand naked in the blue light
Your hands on my breast
You saw me not as sex
But as art
I gave the gift of my life
Take a sip of wine
Dancing threw the slides
I was a goddess in your eye
Back to black and white emails
Words words words
No voice
No touch
Cold keys clicking the pure emotion inside
Could you ever grasp my heart?
Hold on not for a few days
But a lifetime?
Tell me its just begun
Us our time

Author's Note: The worst part of seeing you is saying goodbye knowing its not tomorrow but a lifetime away... Till we meet again.
