Single Lens Reflex by Ryan M EvonShutter open, silver soaks
In burning light.
Spectrum of beautiful colors
Forgotten, ignored,
Twisted to shades of grey.
Through pane after pane of glass
Beauty comes into focus,
Lost when eye comes up to see.
Use the lens to filter out life.
Instant now lasts forever,
Burnt into celluloid cell.
When a happy wife forgot
About all the beatings.
The funny guy smiling, beer in hand,
Before his car collided with the tree.
On this plane, things don't crash.
Until reciprocity or dust
There is no evil,
Just a perfect scene,
That will never be again. 10/30/2002 Posted on 10/30/2002 Copyright © 2025 Ryan M Evon
