Dark Beauty

by Dana E Brossard

Gleaming in the soft candle light.
Rain beading upon the surface.
Slowly it turns and shimmers.
Almost liquid in the quiet night.
Blade shearing to a fine line.
Beauty yet horror,
In the hands of a madman.

Author's Note: I'm feeling rather dark at the moment.

Mmmm.... It just hums to you... the flow and word selection are perfect. It's not too long, it's not too short, it's just perfect in as many ways as there are... I love the way the emotion changes subtly from line to line... magnificent, thank you..

Yes, there is beauty everywhere. A blade, a spider's web. Deadly yet beautiful.

all the contrasts so full of the real-life drama of the poetry of witness. The transition of the candle into blade, so terrifying. Superb
