Walk(ed) Away
by Jersey D GibsonIt's time to turn around,
walk away from the only happiness I've known.
It's time to look away,
to seek something I doubt I will ever find.
It's time to walk on glass,
bare feet barely feeling the shards cutting in.
It's time to walk on water,
and it will take a miracle to save what's left of me.
-It's time to walk away,-
to walk out on you.
-It's time to walk away,-
to save what's left.
-About time I walked away,-
why didn't I do this sooner?
-About time I walked away,-
tears streaming out of our eyes.
It's time to move on,
everything in this poor town just serves as a reminder.
It's time to go on,
cemented feet seem so hard to move from this same spot.
It's time to change things,
if you do what you've always done, you will get what you've always gotten.
It's time to heal me,
you broke my soul's back, how could you say I did the same to you?
-It's time to walk away,-
to walk out on pain.
-It's time to walk away,-
to walk out on joy.
-About time I walked away,-
freedom is open in front of me,
-About time I walked away,-
freedom and misery.
