soft sweater.

by Indigo Tempesta

two girls that never talk

suddenly swallowed each other up

and one walked away laughing

and i am never sure which one it was

cause there was none left when i turned & looked back.

one of the girls--the smaller one--laughed loudly

and with an open mouth, and had a very red tongue

the other shook her shoulders as the laughs ran down

and smiled with her eyes.

an old child

carried in my palm like ice.

Red Tongue opened her mouth first, as if to laugh again

but stretched her lips giraffe-like

for the other girl that never talked or

with whom she never talked

Smiling Eyes reached up just then with sweating lips

and consummately one was gone

the one laughed contentedly

and looked around

wearing a soft sweater.
