::awake::

by Bethany Lee

so,
you are one to know
how the magickweaving goes...

spiders laced in mushroom tea
swim in crave-deep caverns,
and still light shines
through the tips of stalagmites
reaching their fingertips to the pinpoint
holes where sungods leak through.

rainbow reflections
deserve semi-fluent interpretations...
but words are useless
in worlds that speak no English.

so the mind makes up a language
where vulgarity and seduction
carry eachother through the trepid
volcanoes under the sea...
rising to surface hand-in-hand
grasping for one sweet taste of breath
when all is clear and still...
but even in sleep,
images awaken your senses
and 'round and circle you turn
in a everneverending roll of hips
and licking of lips
until all is parched and dry.
where one tear could flood the entire valley
of dandilions and marigolds,
each a minute sun glancing in brightness
to make you close your eyes,
for the thousandth time...
for there is much to see that your eyes can't handle...

and much to breathe
that won't quicken your lungs to overload.
too much to touch
that soon you feel nothing...
but crave the taste of everything -
yet can no longer chew...

and when you see glimpses of the often-unseen,
it's hard to forget (perhaps remember) that the entire world...

is a revolving dream...

This is a well crafted verse Vera. It reminds me of the Tao story of a man who woke from a dream about a beautiful butterfly and wondered if he was indeed the butterfly dreaming it was a man. Good stuff kid. Peace...jadi
