Closer to me by Scott Cadence
if I held you,
against my chest -
your movements
so fine
upon me,
I'd let the chills
run -
have ways
with your arms
about me,
If I had you
painted on my skin -
a heat
radiant,
I'd awkwardly
entangle
at every sense,
fumble into desire -
If I catch you
through corners
of a breeze,
silk scarfs
grasped
by abraded hands,
I'd left you
no reason
to leave.

Posted by Lizz Scott on 11/22/02 at 12:57 AM I really liked this poem. Especially the lines "If I had you painted on my skin." The imagery is vivid. very nice piece! Glad I came across your library. |
