late night rambling

by Daryl Fein

humility, shame
one in the same,
irreverance, tolerance
coincidence to blame
partially hydrogenated,
every day brings us change,

in all directions I am pulled,
like taffy, too thin
I feel it in my fingers,
pulsating, under skin
I learn enough to forget,
and I forget enough to learn

I've seen the masses conforming,
and slowly I realize, it's MY turn

red flame divide, flashing on the wall,
churning dissident pain, unconcious withdrawl.
