Hearts, Angels, and Shores by Christopher ShinThe world around us is changing,
Causing broken hearts and broken memories.
I dont know why you regret the
Choices you made in life,
But things arent always that way.
I can not promise you the sun or
The moon because I wish I had them too.
The only thing I can tell you that
The world becomes a little brighter.
So we stand a world apart.
You have the Gulfs and I have the Pacific.
Yet we stand at the edge of the world
From our own roof tops full of bitterness,
But it can only get better.
We have lived a life full of chaos
Of those who would rip asunder the delicate
Fabric of our heart.
The only thing I can do is help you put
The piece together like a loyal friend.
I wish I could be the one to reach across
The fields of stars and help you understand.
We have our demons in our souls that
Tare at each other as we stand in arena
Watching and hoping for peace.
I want to be the angel that guides you
But my wings can only spread so far.
My words can only soothe the darkness your in.
I watch you huddle like I did when I was your age,
But all I can do is tell you that Im near.
We have pricked our fingers on the broken
Shards of our hearts and sometimes
We are scared to try again,
And all I can do is try again.
I tell you to do the same,
But even I have my doubts on
My own heart.
I am lost as you are,
But dont let the walls take you in.
Dont surrender your heart and mind
To the madness of the cold emptiness.
For I am there for you as a Saint Of the Broken hearted.09/26/2002 Author's Note: This is to my friend Jessica Steenbock

Just read your poem, it's so beautiful. Thinking about your friend, yet so far away wnating to help each other. Even thou your not in person, this poem helps too. Letters, emails, & even a phone call now & then too. Jean |
