Loveless

by Christopher Shin

I am in love with a woman but does she

Exist or only in the mind of a dead-end romantic.

She hangs her dark hair and all I can see is

The color of night all around me.

Her eyes are a beacon as I stare loyally

Like a moth to a flame I flutter closer

To the deadly siren of my own creation.

She taunts me with her burning eyes.

We have things in common and we mourn

Together about the loves we once had.

But she is like snake ready to pounce

As she spreads the venom of her malcontent

Into the veins of my heart.

I try to feel for myself from the dead

Piece of muscle that beats with

A broken song over and over again.

She holds my heart in her cold hands.

Like an eagle she holds her prize in

The air.

I stare at her eyes without any hope,

And she continues to tell me about

My fate with my heart in her hands.

I watch with fear as she decides our

Destiny.

Hi Christopher, It's good, emotional, kinda sad too. It's better to love, than not to love at all. Yes, love can stink at times. But ya never give up. Get back up, dust yourself off, try again. Jean
