HAUNTED FOREST

by Lori I Wolfe

HAUNTED FOREST

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walk the path in front of you
Do not veer off into the woods
Glowing eyes peer through the trees
Just watching and waiting for you
They want to eat your soul alive
They love to hear you scream
For they are the evils of the night
That comes out when you are asleep
Walk the path straight and true
For if you make one wrong move
They will drag you into the darkness
And boil you in a big pot of stew
They dance and sing with haunted songs
While preparing for their feast
You’ll get an apple in your mouth
Then marinade with bitter sweet
So walk the path in front of you
Do not veer off into the woods
For if you do they will grab you in
And invite you for their midnight feast
