Octavio

by Anne Engelen

Once upon a time
Chatrooms were my escape from reality
Typing myself into another world
As real as I allowed it to be
Various people I've met
Incredible conversations I've had
Occasionally I made a friend for life

I've enjoyed AIM over the years. Some people think it's not intimate because it's typed out, but I find I can be more myself with Instant Messengers.

I've spent years in various types of chat, too. It really does become an engrossing little universe of it's own. And it's good to know that some real friendships have been made out there. Wonderfully written.
