Never Forget 9-11-01

by John D Uzzell

America. It’s home for many millions
We are all safe behind her flag
Others watch as we wave her proud
Others wish for it, but behind they lag

We offer it to all
The freedom they long to hold
We invite them in and keep them safe
Standing proud never to be told

That we can’t walk down our street
Or we cannot say what we think.
We will never run, we will never hide
If you don’t believe us, don’t blink

A year ago come soon
We took a terrible loss
To stop who did this we will never quit
No matter what the cost

We can never forget what happened that day
To the families, off to work to pay their way
Never again to be the same in their lives
Not for the sons, daughters, husbands or wives

Hold your head high scream it loud
This is America. Say it with pride.
Let who did this know
We will never hide
