Interesting Session

by Anne Engelen

Today I realized that being alive
doesn't automatically require the need of a shrink.
It's okay to be different, to be yourself.
It's okay to wonder and think.
Not coping, or being lost in certain situations is a problem to society, needing to be solved.
Before you know, shrink-sessions will be involved.
Being a produce of our time
I have my personal shrink, she's all mine.
To humour the fellow occupants of my world, I went to today's session against my will.
Yet, feeling officially crazy, still
I entered her office open minded.
All that's been ever told got professionally rewinded.
That turned out to be real interesting.
I heard myself talk and watched her trace that down to some childhood happening.
I loved the challenge to get into her brain, tracing her thoughtful steps so vain.
Somehow this session was worth her pay, she made it interesting for me to stay!

Yeh - I've often considered shrinking myself to death :>
How many are too vain to realise they're being studied?
Variety - also the spice of poetry...belated appreciation from my smouldering tongue.
