A promise made from God to Earth,
It was fulfilled with a child's birth.
A child of truth and of light
Became a man who professed God's might.
The promise taught by his son
Of the fathers love for everyone.
The promise of eternal life
Freedom from this worlds troubles and strifes.
The promise of everlasting love
A place in Heaven with God above.
The prophets told of the cost
Of Jesus's death upon the cross.
Of that day on Calvary's hill
When for our sins the lambs blood would spill.
The promise made to disciples and friends
On the third day he did rise again.
The promise as he did ascend
Prepare my children for I shall come again.
