Rose Coloured Glass

by Holly H Dunne

There once was a bubble of glass, tinted rose
One night someone smashed it, accident, i suppose
A thousand shards of razor sharp splinters
Set out to find the summers and change them into winters
Slicing through the sea of tranquility
Creating torrents and waves of instability
Shreding the rainbow veils covering her kin
Revealing hidden monsters concealed within
Stripping the angels of their velvet silk wings
Carving horns from their halos and a tail that stings

In the bubble lived a girl
Those shards of glass destroyed her world
One shard left to fulfil her wish
She picked it up and slashed each wrist
A thousand things that will never be the same
That rose coloured glass now has blood colured stains
