She

by Kitty Ness

She calls to you from behind
unbreakable glass and distance.
Her power keeps running into walls.
Obstacles in the way of communication.
She tries so hard to keep it fresh
in her mind, but it's so dark.
She's growing up fast, and moving
forward faster than you are hurrying.
Catch her before she's nothing but a eunuch memory.
Your very own redemption
Could slip away, she's afraid.

I really enjoyed this poem. My favorite line is: "Her power keeps running into walls". That gives such a sense uncontrollability. Excellent poem.
