Solaris

by Bruce W Niedt

Pull me in, pull me in,
let me parabolate into you,
let me sink and spiral,
orbit decaying,
rubbing down in atmosphere,
friction growing,
heat glowing,
streaking yellow-red in your sky,
as I descend to sea,
silver-wave wrinkled,
as you call me,
you ocean, you organism,
infiltrating memory,
and I break the surface,
the tension,
with a smack of steam
and a plume of white in your air,
as I submerge,
bright ceiling above,
dark swirling below,
and I pray to you,
my comforting planet,
pull me down,
into your tide of consciousness,
pull me down to forget,
pull me down to forget.
