There he goes...

by Ginette T Belle

It's a tragedy you know
It's a vague dissolution
Why do faces disappear in crowded cities
And beautiful, calming lives
Send me drowning in a sea of doubt
Why do fingers forget where they've been
And lips hurry to drink in bolder wine
Why sit on mountain tops staring at the ants below only to laugh
Does passion only come when your mind is empty
Does it expire when your cynical side finally eats you whole
When I'm buried in the heavy soil
Will everything finally be blissfully clear?
