Thump Thump

by Charles M Harrison

Thump Thump...thump thump
Two hearts beat as one.
Thump Thump...thump thump
A mother and a son.
Thump Thump...thump thump
In a world that hears no sound.
Thump Thump...thump thump
He feels her all around.
Thump Thump...thump thump
The blood flows in one and the other.
Thump Thump...thump thump
A common bond child and mother.
Thump Thump...thump thump
He turns and twists around.
Thump Thump...thump thump
Startled he feels a new sound.
Thump Thump...thump thump
If only he knew.
Thump Thump...thump thump
There is nothing he can do.
Thump Thump...thump thump
His life will soon end.
Thump Thump...thump thump
It never did begin
Thump Thump...thump th....
One heart beats alone.
Thump Thump
Another little life gone.
