Dreaming again

by Marlon DeLeon

It's funny the way fate works
every time I see you I fall in love once more
I live in clouds reaching for a star that's just too far
I look into your eyes and fall into a never-ending trance
now that we are apart why can't you realize
that’s not how we belong
fate can't be wrong
life goes on as I'm stuck in a moment of pain
I can't sleep with the thought of us apart
I drown in the tears of sorrow
you just turn around and ignore
the fact that we belong
as the moon belongs to the night sky
your face a reflection of pure beauty
your eyes precious dark gems
lips soft as the pedals on a red rose
but it can't be it's all fading away
I want to be dreaming again, dreaming again
the image of you a freeze frame in my mind
as I look above the sky empty and so am I
I've been down here before just for you
I've lost myself and so much more
we're just friends now sometimes I can't stand that
feeling
I want to be more than that
we're supposed to be together as fate intended at
first
but it's not that simple, it's not that simple
every time we meet it feels like the first time
lost in the feeling again can’t stand the pain
you've forgotten me and the way we were
as our love faded and died
but my hope of us never will
as long as I can be dreaming again
dreaming again
