Listening to My Love

by Kristine Briese

I took it in the living room
and watched television with it.
It laughed at Jimmy Stewart's
eight foot invisible rabbit.

I took it in the kitchen
and it helped me make dinner.
It bubbled the gravy and
sizzled the chops.

I took it in the study
and wrote a poem with it.
It whispered and chuckled and
tapped on the keys.

I took it in the bedroom
and made long, slow love with it.
It moaned and sighed and
breathed your name.

No comment - I'm in sensory deprivation mode...
