blindness

by Indigo Tempesta

i am driving
and i'm waiting
greengray
is that rain?
i smelled it before it fell
it is new and old
i smell the way you move
the painting of your body
the interface of your skin and the rain
warm
that i cannot see
but the feeling is thick

the cloud followed
followed me home
climbing into my thoughts
where are you?
soft
made of edges
rain evaporates in the hot street

your chest is solid
thrums, controls my senses
and rain in my face
and tears in my throat
and miles of you, miles of you

cold face
the wet warm sky falls on this
your determination
and my vision fails
enveloped by the sound and the feeling
