Before The Sun Rises

by Corey Drover

Not quite today and almost tomorrow
A time for reflection when most
are sleeping this event away

The sky is dark but my soul is awake
Filled with wonderment at
just what the morning may bring
and thoughts of yesterdays happenings

The stars give their last twinkle
of the night in a transplendent gesture,
an homage to hope and beauty

No engines whirring in the distance
or airplanes in the sky to interrupt
the solitary meditation of serenity
that is so important from time to time

As night's cessation approaches
the sky takes on a jacinth hue in the
twilight hours and I repose

Tranquility now at the ends beginning
or beginnings end as I pause on the hill
Natures prosperous soul support
Heaven on the horizon as yesterday rolled on by

Again, you imagery is spot on. I love the peaceful, softness of this. I like the way this piece....feels. You have a gift.
