Can’t say that I have
or could ever be able
to take those steps
which separate us from
ever knowing each other
truly would you believe
that judgment is not as
forthcoming as some
opinions would have it.
 
Is it possible that my
vacant images could
be masked by the import
of meaningful messages
which I hope don’t fall
on ears gone blind with
the loss of our senses,
 
denying that we are coming
to the threshold of appearing
as if deserters leaving
fields full of action.
 
It is not my intention
to wear out your souls
but only to see that
the laces are securely tied.
