Soulless Eyes (I See The World Thru) by Jersey D GibsonYou beat me down, again,
with tears in my eyes.
The silent song of suffering,
of pain, and sex, and lies.
My body's bruises will heal,
but my soul never will.
I'm about to crack under pressure,
I've almost had my fill.
Tell me
why do you
talk to me?
Tell me
why do you
come to me?
You gave me
soulless eyes,
I see the world through
souless eyes.
Tell me
why do you
feel for me?
Show me
what you do
to me?
I've got
soulless eyes,
I see the world through
soulless eyes.
Pain of past, pain of present,
the pain that has yet to come.
Raise your fist again in anger,
close my eyes until you're done.
The courage to go and leave,
so much worse than it is to stay.
So bad how things can get,
I have a feeling things are better this way.
Tell me
why do you
stay with me?
Tell me
why do you
love me?
You gave me
soulless eyes,
I see the world through
soulless eyes.
Won't you
treat me like
you used to do?
Won't you
care for me
when you're through?
You gave me
soulless eyes,
I see the world through
soulless eyes. 06/25/2002 Author's Note: Another song. And, again, this comes from the emotional/physical standpoint. The origian title and wording was 'snake eyes', but it didn't sound, nor flowed well, so I changed it to 'soulless'. I think most people agree that was a better change.
