the snow is dancing and so am I

by Emily G Myers

the snow is dancing
and so am I
in the coldness of the moon's light
and all that is austere
if beauty nears
winter strips it of its leaves
only the bony fingers of trees
that point to your absence
I don't dance for rain
but for your return
and as hopes die
the piano whispers
and my eyes are flooded
with you and your words
the ones you used to say
yes, the snow I tread
is fire compared to your glance now
but the snow still dances
inspiring my own dancing
though you're so far
the naked trees
the bright moon
the cold crunch of snow
my own breaking heart
and only truth remains on a night like this
when the snow is dancing
and so am I

I like snow themes =) Especially when the author brings such nice visuals along for the ride. =) Thank you for sharing.
