Reciprocity

by Teri T Lahmon

eyelash to eyelash
nipple to nipple
breath mingling...
gaze to gaze
and thought to thought
my lust is reflected
amplified
and rebroadcast in your touch.
sex to sex
we breathe
and taste
and fuck
we shout
hearts slamming against our chests
jealous for the pleasures of the skin
attempting to escape
covetous of the fingertips' gift
they long to mingle
and kiss
to sigh
and come to rest
together.

i like the line "hearts slamming against our chests" a lot.

yes, great images and great capturing of the moment. i don't know how but reading this one feels the "we" aspect very much, unlike most poems where the reader/speaker remains an "I." it's also got a great thumping-bumping rhythm to it! thanks for sharing. {m}
