This Is A Mushy Poem, Therefore To Be Avoided At All Costs!!!

by Jersey D Gibson

I lay next to you,
your head upon my chest,
hearing your rhythmic breathing,
you hand over one of my shoulders,
that slowlys grips and lets go.
One of your legs is crossed over mine,
it twitchs involentarily,
and I can feel your cold toes
going into my calf,
then my thigh.
Your hair tickles my nostrils,
because at least a few strands
get loose and come in my nose
everytime I breath in,
and it's hard to try
and not sneeze in your face
when your asleep.
You talk in your sleep,
softly spoken words,
that usually consist of
my name or "I love you",
then a slow smile spreads,
along your lips as my fingers
trace along them.

Quiet as a dream, but very real,
I can't wait for the next night,
so I can watch you sleep again.

Great imagery - you did a great job at capturing the details of this intimate moment. I can relate very well with it.
