My Scars Will Fade, But This Lesson Never Will

by Jersey D Gibson

I wake up,
all alone.
I have nothing,
to call my own.
A bad dream,
I can't wake from.
Oh my God,
what have I done?
On a bed,
machines plugged in.
Doctor's voices,
rise in the din.
A simple prank,
doing stupid stuff.
Press the pedel,
not going fast enough.
Now I lay,
my body down.
Pain comes and,
I am bound.
My body's hurt,
but soon will mend.
But this guilt,
I'll carry to the end.
