Tir nan og

by Adrian Calhoun

How I long to return to my childhood days.
The joy and the innocence.
No fears,
no pain,
no tears of sorrow.

Locked away in each of our hearts,
is a field of undying youth.

So when it comes time to choose;
stay forever young,
or to come of age?
I say remain,
remain forever young.

As in everyones life,
everyday, from this day forth,
shall change your life.
Not soon to be realized,
in so many different ways.

Within the kindred spirit of youth lies the key.
The key to unlock all that we dream to be,
all of the innocence,
all the things we have yet to see.

Most importantly,
the key to unlock our hearts.
To let ourselves run free,
to love unconditionally,
to be as youths', eternally!

Ahhh yes, we can always be young at heart! You write optimistically and hopefully. May the pressures of life never weigh that "young heart" down.
