I Wish You Remembered that Night

by Chris D Lavigne

So we lie now
back to back
Weary and tired of apologizing
A decree for sleep is made
and all contact will end
I want to help
but I can't understand what you feel
I won't make love to someone I don't love
and I barely got to know you tonight
...
So I leave my room
filled with more sexuality than it has ever had before
...To be alone
Before it overwhelms me
and causes me to give in
Which will only benefit one of us
because it's more than I need
For I never learned to be selfish
But I have now felt you
your breath
your touch
your warmth
But not your desire
And I will go back and lie next to you
...when I know you are asleep
So I will not feel fear, confusion, or failure
But I will feel you
...next to me
And with you asleep
I will not have to say
I'm sorry
