This Old House

by Howard F Farewell

What was once hell
Is now heaven
A haven to escape
All the real hell outside
The cell that was his misery
Now provides the new Southern Comfort
Compared to the new surroundings
This old prison
Is a hotel of grand design
Rarely visited
Hardly used to potential
Now breaking away
Crumbling before his eyes
Horrifying him
As his whole world is disappearing
That once noble display
Of dialect and......argh... see what I mean
As the dumb soaks in
And helps the cataclysmic reaction.
