when i first meet you,
you get into my head
my thoughts become focused
and my heart falls in love

when i'm away then
i think of you often
i see you in dreams
and feel you awake

i remember your smell
so soft, fresh, and blue
your eyes in my mind
i miss you

then when we're close
i can't speak at all
what i say comes out clumsy
then between us is silence

a gap widens again
as if we never met before
'awkward' is in your head
and i leave; torn.

why this always happens,
i can't say at all
what I know is i'm alone
now and forevermore.
