dead end road
by Ulyss RubeyAfterward
we hardly spoke;
she in her world,
me in mine.
We had put
so much into it,
let so much go
during the weeks
our minds
explored
the possibilities,
anticipated
the unkown,
and wandered
the maze
of bewilderment
that led us
to whatever
this is called.
But now,
being here,
being done
with it,
we look,
each out
his own window,
and wait
for a thought
worth sharing-
each knowing
that this
is the end
of something
that should
have never begun.
