(962)Like the back of my Hand by Omi SalaveaA warm touch by a cold stranger
the bottom of a long emptied bottle
desolate streets and empty neon signs
the butt of a dampened cigarette or far worse,
crowded bars, or empty parking lots,
complete silence, a hollow heart,
an unrecognized face, a false kiss
a well worn frown, and tarnished
a well worn sliver of silver,
an empty medicine cabinet,
another hotel bed that isnt lumpy
and a view i despise.
....
Like the back of my hand.
...
So alien, new...
a gentle caress, a kiss at night
simple acceptance, no questioning,
unregarded appreciation,
a smile before sleep,
bright laughter in the dark.
eyes that shine at me in the unlight night.
