TRANSIENT LOVE

by Manas Moksha

PART I

Say no
And I don’t hear
You

As thoughts
Unfold—
Bring them in
close
let each doubt
and each fear
warm the heart
Don’t let words penetrate
vital organs
force your arms overhead
or wrench your spine
from your back

An unwritten fate tickles the wind--
Cool and gentle on soft skin
feel your mind begin to sing

Forget reason
or the hands that bind you
to some distant chair
And float
With the current of my eyes
welcoming you to let go
to release your grasp

Take hold of nothing
but the spirit
of our first breath together
And fall -- freely
Listen
the quiet speaks
And be heard
with a sweating heart
thumping for you alone

Reach out
and realize wings
with a smile
large vaned feathers
form from moulted skin

PART II

I see It in your eye
And I turn—
Move back
And fall away

I see it in your eye
In the corner of the white—
The fear of letting go
The desire of within.

I see it in your eye
The rhythm of your life
The footstep to your beat.

I see it in your eye
The power of your beauty
The capture of your smile.

I see it from within
As you see my own—

The brown encasing black
A hole of deep
A world whole
And steep.

Entirety from within
Novelty from the moment
That does not cease to pass.

The rhythm from within
Your soul
your light
Slips out your eye
And through the night.

PART III

In cadence, we melt into one
Each breath following our naked flesh
as it strokes each of us softly

Warm, our bodies emanate the same heat
Her hair, the smell resting in my face
My shoulder massages her head in dreams
pillow soft
warm and proud

Feet twisted in silver-spooned handles
Arms forked around each other
cage-like

On the couch with cashmere pillows
and room for less than two
Candles glowing,
Dancing in puddles of moon light
Lou Reed drones over our sedation

Sleep in sticky lathered perspiration
Rhythmic grinding overcome
by close chaffing
in a 3 am shadow of stillness—

PART IV

I dreamed how
I would hold you
In slowly moving circles
And horizontal lines
Warping

Seams stretching
Our arms sharing
Oceans of passion
Contoured
In subtle goose flesh
Warm
Salient
One

I tasted your lips
Gently mine to yours
I felt
Essence within life
The nothing in everything

Rhythmically wrenching
Striding through empty night
Streets

Half-stepping through shadows
Cold
Thirsting more
Violently
Thrashing our space
With lust

A hole dug deeply
Torn
Seams of air stretching
Brittle
Saturated
Content

Love in transient
Once more
Our yesterday dreams
Tomorrow’s reality

PART V

We fly side by side
The butterfly and I
I feel what she feels
And she feels the wind in our sky

The sacred space that we create
Passes like water over stone
the serenity of our breath as one
a cosmic stillness has left us high

The wind and the rain
the condensation upon our wings
we falter in our fear
passing through the distant night

so we trust in our velvet shadow
and ride our wave of passion
emerge out of the darkness
on a whim without a fight

Warm and complacent
Cozy and snug
Wildly simple
Stoned by the sun
