Downward spiral, Death freefall
hide and take shelter beneath my dark wing
Seeking that which was always in front of you
but couldn't see because you were blinded by the light of hopes, dreams, and emotion
You healed slowly while under my wing
and forgot to leave
In the darkness, you found comfort and stayed
I tried to get you to understand that you had to go
but I could provide no incentive
You had shelter, support, a reason to exist
You learned how to survive
No longer feeling the downward spiral, death freefall
you still stayed
I couldn't get you to leave, though I had reason to
I also couldn't force you
but why can't you see
You're Not Supposed To Be Here!
You became too sensitive to the light, you became numb, you forgot hopes, dreams, friends, family
You are supposed to go beyond a reason to exist
and find a reason to live!
You were supposed to fly out from beneath my dark wing
once you had healed from your downward spiral, death freefall
You were supposed to fly away
...
Because I know what would happen if you stayed
...
You would become me
