Simplistic

by Betania Tesch

Simplistic in that it was,
at first,
littered with complexities
(my mind a swarming nest
of anxieties)
swept away by your hands,
so carnivorous.
I cannot blame you
for your tastes.
I, too, enjoy the flavour
of your skin in my mouth,
and, although I wonder
how long until I no longer
satisfy,
I take comfort
in seeing the remnants of me
on your lips
and in knowing
I remaing alive
and unhurt.
(Inspired by love and Margaret Atwood)
