Ophelia and I

by Deanna M Gritsonis

Gliding her fingers threw the water
Luke warm
The whirling sound as the water hits her eardrums
A faint smile
Let me go
I let you go
The shouts calling my name
Its dark as I close my eyes
I float still
I never sank
A fairy in the water
Hair wild but silky
Last breath beating my lungs
Bliss
Sad bliss
As I let you go
You left me
Open my mouth one more time
my last breath
water enters and I am gone
The shouts closer
To late to find me
The water lilies hide my tears
The current hiding my fear
