a little birdie told me

by Mary Ellen Smith

a little birdie told me
he flew up to my ear
he whispered oh so softly
I almost didn't hear.

he perched there on my shoulder
he had alot to say
then flapped his little birdie wings
and he was on his way.

a little birdie told me
a secret that I'll keep
at least until I can translate
"cheep, cheep, chirp cheep cheep, cheep!"
