MyFirst Love by Britt ZimmermanI tried to pluck you from my heart
like a flower petal
"He loves me, he loves me not!"
but you are still rooted there
and I can't let go
I can actually feel the innocence
the giddy teenage giggle
everytime you'd smile at me
and every once in a while
I mourn the loss of us
for a while I was convinced
of your death
I had dreamt of it
felt you gone from me
no longer a part of my anatomy
but I found you again
and your music danced in my heart
and sang at my soul
so once again I have sown your seeds
into my heart
placed them there to grow
fertile forever
in a renewed friendship
and an everlasting love
for you have impacted my life so
And I wish you luck
in love and all of your travels
you were my first love
my true friend
I am forever grateful
for the garden you have planted
in my heart
