Discord by Michael HamlinI gaze with unbelief at the painting on the wall
The bright colors
The sunny skies
An image of my new life
Artistically designed by the one above
By the placement of two
Two who would be called a blessing
Two who would be called my friends
As the rainbow of happiness finally begins to engulf me
The colors grow dim
And my painting is shattered
Words of one whom I called friend
Were my paintings dirge
Buried by ignorance
And silenced by bitter anger
Once again, I am alone
A two-headed monster
A friendship that will not last
And an endless struggle between heart and mind
As the great storm reaches its horrific peak
It stops
Truth's bell rings
Bittersweet
But true
All is calm
All is silent
Enimies are friends
Friends are once again aquaintances
All is as it was
Alone
Just me and my wreched painting
Dismal colors
Stormy skies
Alone
Always longing for more 04/14/2002 Posted on 04/14/2002 Copyright © 2025 Michael Hamlin
