Amazing Women

by Ken Harnisch

Amazing women
Walk on the pier
Every afternoon.
I stop and put my
Hands in my pockets
To pretend I don’t see them rambling by
But they know I am looking
So they dress more beautifully
With every passing day
Until it all becomes a game
They look more devastating
While I look more disinterested
One of us will fold
One of us will cry “enough!”
I’m so sure of this
I just keep staring
Wondering which woman
Will be first to break.

I can just imagine what lies beyond the pounce...lucky girl she'll be...

I love how the speaker assumes it will be one of the women to break and not he ;)

Beautifully told and described. Loved how you captured the reader's attention and brought us right there, with you on that pier. Aloha to you from paradise..;-)
