a single quiet rhythm

by Indigo Tempesta

Naked and new
I danced with you
On the shores of the empire
Old woman
Her withered claw
Clutching the water's heavy hand

I danced with you
And your legs escaped me spastic
Faser than even your eyes and
With more grace than I know what to do with
Your lips tasted sweet and tour goosebumps fed me, filled me
You were more then than mortal man
As you are more now than caustic blues
And you are more than friend
Oh o old friend How did we know
But I know oh dark
I would rather gaze for a thousand empty nights upon your waters
Than play a thousand roles and catch a thousand roses

Did we dance
For more than a week you were in my skin
It was a familiar smell and a sweet flavor
I sweated you bled you breathed you cried you
For more than a week you were my lightness
I didn't have to say a word but you

We dancers knew
How it goes how this one goes ah la la la la la
Oh dark where the lonesome fish casts a mournful light
You swallow me but are in me
Pulsing in the pit of my heart
Wear me out, I will grow a new one
