Untitled and unfinished (kind of a thank you poem)

by Paul Little

Untitled and unfinished (kind of a thank you poem)

With the weekends depression gone
A new week brought happiness
It was like I was seven again
The days when I still loved Christmas
I felt it again, deep down inside
The expectation of joy
Never met by disappointments
And it’s all because of you.

I wondered how you were today
Whether you were still worrying
Despite me saying you shouldn’t
I was hoping that you weren’t
And thinking about good things
But i know you too well
And i guessed that you were,
Just because you care enough to.

I will never be able to thank you enough
Words fail me when we speak
So I chose the written word
And I could try forever to write this down
What I am trying to say to you
So this remains as it is now
Untitled and unfinished
(Kind of a thank you poem.)
